Cocotte — Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026

Cocotte is a recipe keeper designed to keep your data on your device. It is available for iPhone and iPad (App Store) and for Android (Google Play). This policy covers both; where the Android app differs, it is said below.

Data we collect

Cocotte collects no personal data. Your recipes, photos, shopping lists, timers and settings are stored only on your device (and your device's standard backups: iCloud or Finder backups on Apple devices, Android backup to your own Google account on Android). We have no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising, and we never receive your recipes or photos.

World Kitchen (online content)

The World Kitchen tab downloads its list of dishes, recipes and photos from Cocotte's content server. These are plain downloads of the same public files for everyone: Cocotte sends no account, no identifier and none of your data. Like any web server, the content server receives your IP address, and on Android the request also carries a browser-like user agent and your device language, as any web request does.

Nutrition profile

If you fill in the optional nutrition profile (sex, age, height, weight, activity, goal), it stays on your device and is used only to estimate daily targets and balance the week menu.

Importing recipes from the web

When you import a recipe from a URL, your device fetches that page directly from the website you chose — exactly like a browser would. Cocotte sends nothing to us or to anyone else, and only the recipe you save is kept, locally.

Notifications

Cooking timers use local notifications scheduled on your device. Nothing leaves your phone. "Shop online" in the grocery list opens a retailer's search page in your browser; what that site does is governed by its own policy.

Purchases

On iPhone and iPad, Cocotte Premium subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before the end of the period.

On Android, they are processed by Google Play Billing. Manage or cancel a subscription in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.

In both cases we never see your payment details; the app only checks with the store whether you own Premium.

Cocotte for Android

Your rights

Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete — deleting the app removes all local data.

Terms of Use

On Apple devices, Cocotte uses Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). On Android, the Google Play Terms of Service apply to your purchase.
