Privacy Policy
Effective date: 24 June 2026
1. Who we are
Hydria ("the app", "we", "us") is a hydration-tracking application for iPhone and Apple Watch developed by Hugo Moriceau ("the developer"). You can reach us at any time at hugomoriceau@gmail.com.
2. The information Hydria handles
Hydria works without an account and without asking for your name, email, phone number, or any contact information. The only information the app handles is what you create by using it:
- Hydration data — the drinks you log (amount, drink type, and the time you logged them).
- Your goal and preferences — the answers you give during setup (such as weight, activity level, climate, and schedule) that the app uses to calculate a personalized daily goal, plus your units, reminders, and theme settings.
- Streak and achievement progress — derived from your own logs.
All of this is generated by you, for you. None of it is transmitted to the developer.
3. Where your data is stored
On your device
By default, everything Hydria knows is stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, that local data is removed with it.
In your own iCloud (optional backup)
If you turn on iCloud backup in Settings, Hydria saves a copy of your own data to your private iCloud account using Apple's key-value storage. This keeps your data safe and lets it appear on your other devices signed in to the same Apple ID. This data resides in your iCloud account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer cannot access it. You can turn iCloud backup off at any time.
In Apple Health (optional)
If you grant permission, Hydria reads and writes your water intake to Apple Health (the HealthKit "Water" data type) so your hydration stays in sync across your health apps. HealthKit data is stored on your device under Apple's protections and is never sent to the developer or any third party. We do not use Health data for advertising, and we do not share it. You control this permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health, and you can revoke it at any time.
4. Notifications
If you allow notifications, Hydria schedules hydration reminders locally on your device. There is no push server involved and no notification data leaves your device.
5. What we do NOT do
- We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting services.
- We do not track you across apps or websites, and the app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission because it has nothing to track.
- We do not collect device identifiers, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, photos, or browsing/search history.
- We do not operate a backend server that receives your hydration data.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone.
6. Purchases
Hydria offers an optional premium subscription and a lifetime purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. The app never sees or stores your payment-card details. Apple handles billing in accordance with its own privacy policy.
7. Children's privacy
Hydria is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Because the app does not collect or transmit personal data to us at all, no special children's data is gathered. If you believe a child has provided information in a way that concerns you, contact us and we will help.
8. Your rights and control
Because your data stays on your device and in your own Apple services, you are always in control:
- Access & export: your hydration data is visible in the app and, where synced, in Apple Health.
- Delete: remove individual logs in the app, turn off iCloud backup, revoke Health access, or delete the app to remove local data.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights. Since we hold no personal data about you on our side, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or erase — but you are welcome to contact us with any question.
9. Data security
Your data benefits from the security of Apple's platform: on-device storage protected by your device passcode/biometrics, and, where you enable it, Apple's encrypted iCloud and HealthKit. We add no servers and therefore no additional points of exposure.
10. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the effective date above and post the new version at this URL. Material changes will be reflected in the app where appropriate.
