Privacy Policy
ReceiptFox ("the app") is designed to be private by default. This policy explains what the app does — and does not — do with your information.
The short version
ReceiptFox has no user account and no cloud backend operated by us. Your receipts, expenses, mileage, clients and reports are stored only on your device. We do not collect, see, sell, or transmit your expense data.
Information processed on your device
- Receipt images & data — photos you capture or import, and the text extracted from them (merchant, date, amounts, tax), are stored locally on your device.
- Text recognition (OCR) — performed on-device using Apple's Vision framework. Receipt images are not uploaded for processing.
- Mileage & location — if you use the live mileage tracker, location is used only on-device to measure trip distance. Routes and coordinates are stored locally and never transmitted to us.
Limited network use
- Exchange rates — to convert foreign-currency receipts, the app may fetch public exchange-rate data from a third-party rate service. These requests contain no personal or expense information.
- Purchases — subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details. Apple's handling of purchases is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Advertising (free tier) — if you use ReceiptFox for free, ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers and usage data to deliver and measure ads, subject to your App Tracking Transparency choice. See Google's policies for details. ReceiptFox Pro removes all ads. We do not share your receipts or expense data with the ad provider.
What we do not do
- We do not have an account system and cannot access your data.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not upload your receipts or expense records to our servers (we operate none).
Your control
You can delete all app data at any time from Settings ▸ Delete all data. You can disable location and tracking permissions in iOS Settings. Uninstalling the app removes its local data.
Children
ReceiptFox is intended for general business and personal finance use and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date.
