Privacy Policy

Overview

CallScribe AI ("CallScribe", "we", "us") is built to be private by design. The app runs 100% on your iPhone: recording, transcription, and AI summaries are all processed on the device. Your recordings and transcripts never leave your device. We do not operate servers that receive your content, we do not require an account, and we do not collect your personal data. This policy explains what that means in plain language.

Information We Collect

We collect no personal information. CallScribe does not ask you to create an account, does not request your name or email to use the app, and does not transmit your recordings, transcripts, summaries, action items, or any related content to us or any third party.

  • Recordings and transcripts are created and stored only on your iPhone.
  • If you have enabled Apple's device backup, your recordings may be included in your own iCloud backup. That backup is controlled entirely by you and Apple under your iCloud settings; we have no access to it.
  • We do not maintain a copy of your content. If you delete the app, the on-device content is removed with it.

Microphone & Speech Recognition

CallScribe needs access to your microphone to record speakerphone calls and in-person meetings. It uses on-device speech recognition to convert that audio into text. This processing happens locally on your iPhone. We request microphone permission only for recording you initiate, and you can revoke it at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

On-Device AI — No Third-Party AI Service

CallScribe's AI features (the TL;DR summary, action items, and key topics) are generated entirely on your device using Apple's built-in on-device intelligence (the Apple Speech and Foundation Models frameworks) together with a local, offline text-analysis engine. CallScribe does not send your audio, transcripts, or any other personal data to OpenAI, ChatGPT, Google, Anthropic, or any other third-party or cloud-based AI service. No content is transmitted off your device for AI processing, and there is no remote AI server involved at any point. Because everything runs locally, the AI features work fully offline.

No Analytics, No Tracking, No Third-Party Sharing

CallScribe contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not build profiles, we do not use cookies or device identifiers for tracking, and we do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties — because we don't collect it in the first place.

Subscriptions & Payments

CallScribe Pro subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store and your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment details. Apple processes the transaction and provides us only with anonymous purchase status needed to unlock features. Apple's handling of your payment information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention & Deletion

Because your content lives on your device, you control retention. Recordings and transcripts remain on your iPhone until you delete them. You can delete an individual recording inside the app at any time, or remove everything by uninstalling CallScribe. If your recordings are part of an iCloud backup, manage them through your iCloud settings.

Children's Privacy

CallScribe is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app collects no personal data from any user, no such information is gathered.

Your Rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights over your personal data, including access, correction, and deletion. Because CallScribe does not collect or hold your personal data, there is nothing for us to access, export, or erase on your behalf — your content stays under your control on your device. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated version on this page. Material changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
