What LENS accesses
To organize your screenshots, LENS asks for read access to your Photos library. It reads your screenshots only to analyze and categorize them on your device. The extracted text, categories and thumbnails are stored locally in the app and never transmitted anywhere.
What LENS collects
Nothing. LENS has no servers and no backend. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data. We cannot see your screenshots, your search queries, or how you use the app. There is no analytics SDK and no advertising SDK in the app.
Photos & on-device processing
- Image analysis uses Apple's Vision framework and the Neural Engine, fully offline.
- Extracted OCR text is stored only in LENS's private, on-device database to power search.
- Deleting a screenshot in LENS removes it from your Photos library at your request — that action stays on your device.
No third-party AI or cloud services
The "AI" in LENS refers exclusively to on-device machine learning using Apple's Vision and Core ML frameworks. LENS does not contain, integrate with, or send any data to any third-party AI service, cloud API, or external server. Your screenshots, the text extracted from them, your categories and your search queries are never transmitted off your device to us or to anyone else. LENS makes no network requests that carry your personal data. There is no third party with whom your data is shared.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. LENS never receives your payment details. Purchase validation is handled on-device via Apple's StoreKit.
Children's privacy
LENS does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is rated 4+.
