Changelog

Two versions so far, and only two. This page will not invent others to look like an older product than it is.

1.1 Build 5 · September 2026

Six voices, for real

The characters were one system voice with the pitch moved: the same person at six settings. Measured on the audio, the timbre moved 12 % while the pitch moved 38 % — in other words, you heard one person in six costumes. They are now six genuinely distinct voices, shipped with the app in all five languages: the same measurement gives 54 %.

Choosing a character takes one tap, with nothing to build and nothing to wait for, and the app has one from the first launch.

Fixed

  • Two voices could overlap when a warning arrived during a manoeuvre. Not any more.
  • The route line now separates the road already driven, the road ahead, and the stretches other drivers report at a standstill.
  • The manoeuvre arrow was the last flat icon left; it has caught up with the rest of the interface.
  • Four visual defects that only a screenshot could reveal, found by looking at the app rather than testing it.

1.0 First version

What the first version contained:

  • Four costed routes — fastest, shortest, cheapest, calmest, with the gap in minutes and euros before departure, and one line explaining why this one won.
  • Per-country tolls and vignettes — the route is split into legs by country and each is charged under its own regime. Before that, one average French rate was applied to the whole of Europe: on a Munich–Milan run the estimate came out roughly a third under and never mentioned the mandatory Austrian vignette.
  • Low-emission zones — Crit’Air, Umweltplakette, daily charges and age-based restrictions, with the city named and the scheme named in its own language, and never a zone boundary drawn.
  • Winter equipment — each crossed country’s published rule, with its dates and its local name.
  • Speed checks under each country’s law — nothing in Germany and Switzerland, a danger zone in France, the reported position elsewhere, and a sentence at the border when the rule changes.
  • Country speed limits — the statutory maxima, announced at the border, never an invented road limit.
  • Electric charging plan — consumption estimated at the route’s real pace, a 10 % reserve, 80 % charges, 2.5 km of detour at most, and a refusal to dress up an impossible trip.
  • The exit number first — the one token you are looking for on the sign, pulled out of the middle of the sentence.
  • A break suggested after two hours, with the services still ahead of you.
  • Ferries spotted inside the route, because a crossing has to be booked and it costs.
  • Where you parked — the level, the bay, your note, the walk back.
  • Parking on arrival — up to three car parks within 600 m, with no pretence of knowing free bays or prices.
  • Reports over two paths — device to device over a few tens of metres, and over the network for what is far ahead.
  • CarPlay — reporting, search, saved destinations, two manoeuvre cards, one alert at a time and in the right order of priority.
  • Data export and erasure — a readable JSON file, and a delete that actually deletes.
  • Five languages — French, English, German, Spanish, Italian.

What this changelog will not do

It will not list versions that never existed, or round dates to make a flattering timeline. When a version ships, it will be added here with what it really contains — including the awkward fixes, like 1.1’s above.

Features of a future version are not announced here until they are shipped. If you want to know what is in progress, write: contact@oshi-messenger.com.
